淳朴的英伦吉他,低调的迷离Snow Patrol－run

今天 snow patrol 从家乡小镇走到大城市，幸而他们并没有忘记令他们成名的，倒是昔日邻家男孩式的流行摇滚乐~“how to be dead”，“wow”，“chocolate”和“ways & means”简单纯朴，每每甚至不过是把数句 catchy 的乐句不停重复而已，但听到 gary 细诉爱情中甜酸苦辣的年青歌词，总能给歌曲添上一份贴心的感觉~
蛰伏3年加入新血－吉他手 nathan connolly，在 polydor 音乐大厂旗下所推出全新大碟【final straw】同样由主唱兼吉他手 gary lightbody 所主导，专辑当中的 same 不难看出 pink floyd 对他们的影响，somewhere a clock is ticking 则让人联想 coldplay 及 radiohead。分明的节奏毫无拖泥带水之嫌，粗糙不粉饰的编曲建构畅快的嘶吼空间，加入类环境实验音效的【final straw】，一发行即被英国乐评率先点名为2004年度最佳唱片之一。
《run》这首歌曲选自专集《final straw》由 chris lord-alge 担当制作人。他为这张唱片加入了电子乐等时髦的点缀，使得这张唱片更加成熟，更加整体，更加干净。但更重要的是与此同时音乐中也保留了乐队原有的田园气息。无论什幺时候，淳朴，吉他和旋律，才是 snow patrol 的本质！
